Model 3 and Model Y solve different buying decisions
Model 3 is a sedan-led choice, while Model Y adds hatch access, SUV packaging and different seating options. That practical difference should lead the comparison—not a generic Tesla repayment or performance badge.
Compare the current derivatives, stored price reference, range and intended use on the BaseRate model pages. Carry the chosen vehicle price into one consistent deposit, term and balloon structure.
The Tesla badge does not determine the finance outcome
A Tesla is generally assessed under the same consumer car-loan principles as another vehicle. The financier considers the applicant, affordability, loan amount, term, deposit, any balloon payment and the vehicle offered as security.
An electric vehicle does not automatically qualify for approval or a discounted rate. Some financiers have EV-specific products, but their powertrain, vehicle-age, amount and borrower criteria still apply.
- Exact Model 3 or Model Y derivative and purchase price
- Deposit, trade-in and amount financed
- Loan term and any balloon payment
- Income, commitments and credit profile
- New or used vehicle age, value and seller type
Insurance and charging belong beside the repayment
The loan repayment is only one part of the decision. Compare registration, duty, comprehensive insurance, charging, tyres, servicing and any home-charging installation using assumptions that match the vehicle and your driving.
Do not rely on a promotional rate without checking the eligible derivative, purchase price, fees, term, balloon and total amount payable. A lower scheduled repayment can still cost more overall when the term is longer or principal is deferred.
A used Tesla needs battery, warranty and value checks
For a used Model 3 or Model Y, check the vehicle and battery warranty position, service and repair history, charging performance, recall status and current market value. A PPSR search can identify registered security interests and written-off or stolen status, but it does not establish battery health.
Vehicle age, accepted value and remaining useful life can affect the available lenders and loan term. Confirm the exact car before treating any estimate as representative.
