BaseRate

Open about money and matching

How BaseRate gets paid—and why our model is different.

BaseRate uses technology rather than a commission-driven broker salesforce to help match car-finance applications with suitable options from an accessible lender panel. If an introduced loan settles, the financier pays BaseRate a disclosed commission.

The logos shown are selected examples, not a promise that every lender or product is available. BaseRate has access to 60+ asset-finance lenders. Lender and product availability varies, and BaseRate does not compare the whole market.

The operating model

Less sales infrastructure. More consistent matching.

Removing layers can reduce operating costs and sales pressure. It does not remove the need for lender assessment, responsible matching or clear disclosure.

System-led matching

Technology applies the matching logic.

BaseRate uses AI-assisted technology and lender criteria to identify potentially suitable options from its accessible panel. Matching is designed to apply criteria consistently rather than follow an individual salesperson’s target.

Technology supports matching. The financier makes the credit decision, and no system can guarantee approval or eliminate every risk of unintended bias.

Lower overhead

A digital process with lower operating overhead.

BaseRate is designed without a traditional broker network, outbound call-centre sales team or large manual administration centre. A connected digital process reduces the overhead built into the operating model.

BaseRate still performs regulated credit activities as a Corporate Credit Representative. Digital does not mean unregulated or responsibility-free.

Built through experience

Years spent refining a simpler process.

The team has spent years learning from asset finance and developing a process intended to be easier to understand, easier to complete and secure by design.

The objective is less avoidable handling and repetition—not less assessment, verification or customer protection.

How matching works

Technology helps find the fit. The lender still decides.

Income and financial information are relevant to affordability and lender eligibility. The difference is that matching is designed around customer and lender criteria—not an individual broker's sales target.

A precise claim, not a perfect-system claim

BaseRate does not claim that AI is inherently unbiased. Responsible matching requires monitoring, clear rules, privacy protection and accountable human oversight.

  1. 01

    You provide the facts

Your vehicle, income, expenses, commitments and preferences help establish the finance scenario.

  2. 02

    The platform checks fit

AI-assisted and rules-based matching compares the scenario with criteria available from the BaseRate lender panel.

  3. 03

    The financier assesses

A matched option is not an approval. The financier verifies information and applies its own credit criteria.

  4. 04

    You review and choose

You decide after reviewing the rate, comparison rate, fees, total repayments, commission disclosure and contract terms.

Follow the money

You should know what everyone gets before you decide.

You

Review the complete option

Consider the interest rate, comparison rate, lender fees, total repayments, contract terms and BaseRate remuneration.

BaseRate

Paid only after settlement

If a finance application introduced through BaseRate settles, the financier pays BaseRate a commission. The amount can vary.

The financier

Sets the credit terms

The financier makes the credit decision and determines the actual rate, comparison rate, fees and contractual terms.

Gross remuneration disclosed

Before you accept an option, BaseRate discloses the gross amount it expects to receive in connection with the loan. You decide whether the finance terms and that remuneration are acceptable to you. Disclosure does not replace your own review of the loan.

Clear boundaries

Information and assistance—not financial advice.

BaseRate can help you understand repayment estimates, provide credit assistance and explore options from its accessible panel. The final decision remains yours.

  • BaseRate does not provide personal financial advice or tell you which option you must choose.
  • BaseRate does not compare every lender or finance product in the market.
  • BaseRate does not make the financier’s approval decision or guarantee an outcome.
  • AI-assisted matching is intended to reduce discretionary steering; it is not a claim that technology is automatically bias-free.

The legal detail

How commission and lender access work+

BaseRate does not charge you a fee to use our service. If a finance application introduced through BaseRate settles, the financier pays BaseRate a commission. The amount can vary between financiers and products. Financier fees, interest, credit criteria and terms may still apply. The gross amount can vary between financiers and products.

BaseRate has access to 60+ asset-finance lenders. BaseRate does not compare every lender or finance product in the market. Lender and product availability depends on accreditation, the asset, lender criteria and your circumstances, and the panel can change.

Credit licence and regulatory position+

BaseRate acts as a Corporate Credit Representative of Scott Iriks, holder of Australian Credit Licence 383122. Its credit activities include assisting with finance applications and referring customers to financiers.

Read the Credit Guide before proceeding.

Example rates and comparison rates+

Illustrative example only. Repayment estimates use a 7.99% p.a. example interest rate and exclude lender-specific fees unless stated. This is not a quote, offer, approval or indication that this rate is available. Your interest rate, comparison rate, fees and repayments will depend on the financier, your circumstances and the final loan details.

A lender-specific comparison rate cannot be calculated from this generic example because lender fees are not included. When you receive a finance option, compare its interest rate, comparison rate, fees, total repayments and terms before proceeding.
