BaseRate

FOR DEALERS AND DEALER GROUPS

A cleaner finance handoff for vehicle dealers

Give customers a direct BaseRate pathway from vehicle selection to finance while keeping the vehicle sale, customer consent and credit decision responsibilities clear.

Partner sign in to CAS

The operating model

A dealer can introduce a customer to BaseRate through an approved referral or co-branded pathway. BaseRate manages the digital finance journey and lender matching; the dealer manages the vehicle transaction; the financier determines approval and settlement conditions.

Dealer programme status

Dealer partnerships can use the live CAS platform

The BaseRate credit platform supports customers applying for themselves, for a business or through an accredited partner. Referral and co-branded dealer pathways are available now. CRM, DMS and retailing integrations are configured for each agreed use case and require technical, privacy, security and compliance review.

Customer-led application

The buyer provides and confirms their finance information directly rather than the dealership re-keying sensitive application details.

Vehicle context retained

The finance journey can start with the known vehicle, seller and transaction details instead of treating the application as an unrelated lead.

Defined ownership

Dealer, BaseRate and financier responsibilities are agreed upfront so the customer knows who is handling each step.

PARTNER FIT

Where the dealer model is strongest

BaseRate is not a substitute for fixing an unclear sales process. The model is strongest where the dealership can supply accurate transaction data and consistently introduce customers into one agreed journey.

Independent dealerships

Add a structured finance option without building an internal comparison platform or sending the customer through an external broker chain.

Useful when finance capacity is limited or inconsistent

Dealer groups

Standardise the finance handoff across locations while retaining source, dealership and vehicle context.

Useful when process consistency matters across rooftops

Used-vehicle specialists

Present a digital pathway that accounts for vehicle age, kilometres, value and lender security requirements.

Useful when stock profiles vary materially

Online vehicle retailers

Connect a remote buying journey to customer-led finance without inserting an offline finance discovery step.

Useful when most of the sale already occurs online

PARTNERSHIP MODELS

Dealer partnership models

BaseRate will not force every dealership into the same integration. The starting model should reflect customer volume, existing systems and the dealership’s ability to maintain clean vehicle and transaction data.

OPERATING JOURNEY

The intended dealer-to-finance journey

The customer should not have to guess whether the salesperson, BaseRate or the financier is responsible for the next action.

  1. 1

    Introduce

The dealer uses the agreed invitation at the appropriate point in the sale and identifies the relevant vehicle or stock context.

  2. 2

    Customer completes

The customer reviews the BaseRate disclosures, gives consent and completes their own finance profile.

  3. 3

    BaseRate orchestrates

CAS evaluates the verified profile and transaction against suitable pathways from BaseRate’s accessible lender panel.

  4. 4

    Financier decides

The relevant financier assesses credit, sets the actual terms and confirms any approval or settlement conditions.

  5. 5

    Dealer supplies the sale file

The dealer provides accurate invoice, vehicle, deposit and settlement details and completes the vehicle sale.

What a dealership should expect to provide

Fast finance is impossible when the vehicle or transaction record is incomplete. The dealer proposition depends on reliable source information and a team that follows the agreed introduction and settlement process.

  • Correct legal seller name, dealership and contact details.
  • Vehicle make, model, year, VIN or stock reference, kilometres and sale price.
  • Deposit, trade-in and payout information where relevant.
  • A complete tax invoice or purchase contract when requested.
  • A nominated person for exceptions, document corrections and settlement coordination.

How success should be measured

A partner programme should not be judged by raw leads. The useful measures are whether appropriate customers complete the journey, whether submitted information is usable and whether the operating model helps vehicle sales reach a valid finance outcome.

  • Invitation-to-start and start-to-completion rates.
  • Application completeness and avoidable rework.
  • Time between customer consent, decision milestones and settlement.
  • Vehicle-sale completion for customers using the pathway.
  • Customer complaints, consent failures and incorrect dealer representations.

Common questions

Partnership FAQs

Is BaseRate a lender?+

No. BaseRate manages the digital application and lender-matching journey. A financier assesses the application and determines the actual rate, fees, conditions and approval.

Does the dealership need to handle the finance application?+

The intended model is customer-led: the customer provides their finance information and consent directly to BaseRate. The dealer provides the accurate vehicle and transaction file and uses the agreed introduction process.

Can BaseRate integrate with our CRM or DMS?+

Yes, where the systems and agreed use case support it. BaseRate configures CRM or DMS integrations per partner after discovery, data mapping, security, privacy, compliance and testing; it does not claim universal plug-and-play compatibility.

Can the dealer promise a rate or approval?+

No. Any estimate or preliminary indication is not approval. The financier determines the actual rate, fees, terms, conditions and approval after assessment.

How are referral payments and disclosures handled?+

Any commercial arrangement and required customer disclosure must be documented before activation. The dealership should not assume a referral payment or use finance claims that BaseRate has not approved.

Does a dealer partnership require exclusivity?+

Not by default. Any exclusivity, minimum volume or service commitment would need to be expressly agreed rather than assumed from the public partner proposition.
