The operating model

A BaseRate partnership can start with a tracked referral pathway and progress to a co-branded or embedded experience where the commercial, technical and compliance case supports it. BaseRate manages the finance journey; the financier makes the credit decision.

Platform readiness

CAS—the Credit Application Service—is live

CAS is the secure digital platform behind the BaseRate finance journey. It captures a structured application, manages consent and carries the customer through lender matching and application progress. BaseRate has access to a panel of 60+ asset-finance lenders, while available options still depend on the applicant, vehicle, transaction and lender criteria.

WHAT PARTNERS GET

CAS turns a finance lead into a managed application

CAS stands for Credit Application Service. It replaces the disconnected lead form, repeated data entry and manual status chasing with one BaseRate-managed digital workflow. It is not the lender and does not make the final credit decision.

A connected customer handoff

Carry the partner source, selected vehicle and transaction context into BaseRate so the customer does not have to restart with a generic finance enquiry.

One application workflow

CAS collects the borrower, vehicle and finance structure, manages consent and documents, checks suitable panel pathways and records application progress in one journey.

Scoped progress visibility

Accredited partners can see permitted progress and outcomes for applications attributed to them without receiving unrelated customer data or confidential lender policy.

PARTNER FIT

Where BaseRate can fit

A partnership needs a real customer journey and enough qualified intent to justify the operating model. These are the initial partner categories BaseRate is prepared to assess.

Dealerships and dealer groups

Give buyers a direct digital route to finance while preserving the dealer relationship and vehicle transaction.

Best fit: consistent monthly vehicle volume

Vehicle marketplaces

Connect finance discovery to a known vehicle, price and seller context instead of asking customers to restart elsewhere.

Best fit: high-intent vehicle traffic

Automotive software platforms

Scope a finance entry point for CRM, retailing, inventory or customer-experience products where the data and consent model is clear.

Best fit: defined workflow and technical owner

Member and employee platforms

Offer an education-led finance pathway to a defined audience without presenting a guaranteed rate or approval.

Best fit: trusted audience and measurable demand

PARTNERSHIP MODELS

Start at the right integration depth

The deepest integration is not automatically the best one. BaseRate will start with the lightest model that can prove customer demand, data quality and operational fit.

OPERATING JOURNEY

How a partnership moves from idea to activation

A logo swap is not an integration strategy. BaseRate uses a staged process so the customer experience, data responsibilities and commercial incentives are explicit before activation.

  1. 1

    Qualify the use case

Define the audience, monthly volume, vehicle context, current finance process and customer problem.

  2. 2

    Design the handoff

Agree what the partner collects, what BaseRate collects, where consent occurs and how progress is communicated.

  3. 3

    Complete controls

Review privacy, security, credit messaging, brand use, commercial disclosures and operational ownership.

  4. 4

    Activate and measure

Start with agreed success measures, monitor customer completion and only deepen the integration when evidence supports it.

What BaseRate is designed to improve

Finance journeys often lose context when customers are sent from a vehicle or product page into an unrelated application. Repeated data entry, unclear ownership and manual follow-up create avoidable friction.

BaseRate is designed to carry structured borrower, vehicle and transaction information into one digital journey. The goal is a faster, more accurate pathway through lender policy—not a guarantee that every customer will receive finance.

  • Preserve useful vehicle and transaction context at the point of referral.
  • Give the customer a clear explanation of who is handling finance.
  • Reduce unnecessary manual handoffs and duplicate questions.
  • Measure completion and outcome quality before adding integration complexity.

What BaseRate will not promise

A credible partner proposition needs explicit limits. BaseRate will not represent a preliminary indication as approval, imply that every panel lender is available to every applicant or activate a partner-specific integration without the required technical and compliance review.

  • No guaranteed approval, rate or settlement time.
  • No transfer of identifiable customer data without an appropriate notice, consent and purpose.
  • No partner access to confidential lender policy or customer information outside the agreed operating model.
  • No claim of universal API compatibility; system integrations are reviewed and configured for the agreed partner use case.

Common questions

Partnership FAQs

What is CAS?+

CAS stands for Credit Application Service. It is BaseRate’s secure digital platform for capturing a structured finance application, managing consent and documents, matching the scenario with accessible lender pathways and tracking progress. The financier still verifies the application and makes the final credit decision.

Is the BaseRate partner platform live?+

Yes. The secure CAS application platform is live at credit.baserate.com.au. Referral and co-branded pathways can use the live platform, while embedded or system-to-system integrations are configured for the agreed partner use case after technical, security and compliance review.

Can we start without an integration?+

Yes. A tracked referral pathway is the sensible starting point for many partners because it can test demand and operating fit before either business commits to deeper integration work.

Who makes the credit decision?+

The financier makes the credit decision and determines the actual rate, fees, conditions and approval. BaseRate manages the digital application and lender-matching pathway.

Does BaseRate use brokers?+

BaseRate does not hand the customer to a separate external broker network. The digital journey is managed through BaseRate, with licensed assessment or certification inside the workflow where required, before a financier makes the credit decision.

How are partnership commercial terms handled?+

Commercial terms, any referral economics and the disclosures required for the chosen model are agreed before activation. BaseRate does not publish a universal partner commission because the work and operating responsibilities differ by arrangement.
