TRUST AND ACCURACY
BaseRate editorial policy
BaseRate publishes general educational information to help Australian car buyers understand finance terminology, assumptions and application steps. It is not personal financial advice.
How content is produced
Substantive finance guides are written or reviewed by an identified author with relevant industry experience. Regulatory, legal and market claims should rely on primary sources such as ASIC, Moneysmart and the Federal Register of Legislation.
Commercial independence and conflicts
BaseRate operates a lender-panel model and does not compare the whole market. BaseRate does not charge customers to use the platform. If an introduced loan settles, the financier pays BaseRate a commission that can vary by financier and product. Commercial relationships do not change the requirement to describe panel limitations and material assumptions.
Examples, rates and vehicle prices
Illustrative repayments are labelled as examples and are not quotes, offers or approvals. Time-sensitive rates, vehicle prices, taxes and incentives must include a source or an as-at date and are reviewed when content is materially updated.
Corrections
If you identify an error, email ask@baserate.com.au with the page and supporting information. Material corrections are reviewed promptly and the page’s modified date is updated.
