My Garage is live in the BaseRate customer portal

Open My Garage and continue with the email linked to your BaseRate profile. The information shown depends on the vehicle and finance data available in your account. Values, balances and equity figures are estimates—not guaranteed sale offers or lender payout quotes.

Estimated vehicle value

See an estimated current value for an available vehicle in your Garage and use it as a starting point—not a guaranteed sale price.

Loan and depreciation view

Compare the projected loan balance with estimated vehicle depreciation to see how the relationship may change over time.

Indicative equity position

Understand the difference between estimated vehicle value and the displayed finance balance before exploring refinance, sale or replacement pathways.

What you can do in My Garage

My Garage connects the car you own with the finance position attached to it. Instead of treating vehicle value and loan balance as separate numbers, it shows how they interact and what that could mean for your next decision.

  • Review available vehicle details linked to your BaseRate profile.
  • See an estimated vehicle value rather than relying only on the original purchase price.
  • Compare estimated depreciation with the projected loan balance over time.
  • View an indicative positive or negative equity position using the figures displayed.
  • Continue into relevant keep, refinance, sell or replacement-car pathways.

How to read the Garage numbers

The estimated vehicle value answers what the car may be worth under current market assumptions. The projected loan balance estimates how the finance may reduce if repayments continue as modelled. The gap between those figures is indicative equity.

Positive equity means the estimated vehicle value is higher than the displayed finance balance. Negative equity means the displayed balance is higher than the estimated value. Neither result confirms the amount available from a buyer or the amount required by the lender to close the loan.

What each My Garage figure means before you make a decision
Garage figureWhat it helps explainWhat to confirm before acting
Estimated vehicle valueA current indication of what the vehicle may be worth based on the information available.Obtain an actual purchase offer or market appraisal. Condition, kilometres, location and sales channel can change the result.
Projected loan balanceHow the outstanding finance may reduce over the remaining loan period.Request a current payout letter from the lender. A payout can include accrued interest, fees or timing adjustments.
Indicative equityThe estimated difference between vehicle value and the displayed finance balance.Recalculate using an actual sale offer and current lender payout before selling, trading or refinancing.

Use Garage to prepare the next decision

Garage helps you recognise the question to investigate next. You may decide to keep the car, obtain a lender payout, review refinancing, start a vehicle appraisal or compare the cost of a replacement car.

  • Keep the car: compare remaining repayments with expected running and ownership costs.
  • Refinance: compare the remaining cost of the current loan with the complete cost of a replacement loan, including fees and any term extension.
  • Sell or trade: confirm both an actual buyer offer and the lender payout before relying on an equity figure.
  • Replace the car: carry the confirmed equity or shortfall into the next vehicle budget instead of treating the trade-in price as a deposit by itself.

What My Garage does not guarantee

My Garage is a decision-support tool. An estimated value is not a binding offer to purchase the car, a displayed loan balance is not necessarily the lender payout figure, and indicative equity is not cash available until the sale and finance discharge amounts are confirmed.

Before selling, trading or refinancing, confirm the vehicle price with the buyer or dealer and request a current payout letter directly from the existing lender.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I use My Garage now?+

Yes. My Garage is available through the secure BaseRate customer portal. Continue with the email linked to your BaseRate profile. The vehicles and information shown depend on the data available in your account.

Is the vehicle value in My Garage guaranteed?+

No. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed purchase offer. Vehicle condition, kilometres, location, timing, options and whether you sell privately, trade in or use a buying service can change the actual price.

Is the displayed loan balance my lender payout figure?+

Not necessarily. A lender payout is calculated for a specific date and may include accrued interest, fees or other adjustments. Request a current payout letter from the lender before selling, trading or refinancing.

Does My Garage automatically refinance my loan?+

No. My Garage can help identify a reason to review the loan, but refinancing requires your consent, a current application, verification and financier assessment. Compare total remaining cost—not only the new repayment.
