OWNERSHIP CALCULATOR
What will this car really cost each week?
Combine depreciation, finance interest and running costs. The result is an economic ownership estimate—not merely the loan repayment.
Your assumptions
Use your own figures. BaseRate does not yet provide a vehicle-specific valuation or running-cost feed in this tool.

Estimated economic ownership cost over 5 years

Illustrative only. Excludes purchase costs, lender fees, repairs, parking, tolls, tax effects and differences between estimated and actual resale value. The entered rate is not a quote or available offer.
Why repayment alone is incomplete
A loan repayment mixes principal and interest. Principal converts cash into an asset; it is not all consumed. This calculator therefore uses depreciation to represent lost vehicle value and adds only finance interest and running costs.
For cash-flow planning, also consider the deposit and displayed loan repayment. For an economic comparison between vehicles, use the weekly ownership-cost result.
Known limitations
- The future vehicle value is supplied by you and is not a BaseRate valuation.
- Actual insurance, servicing, tyres, fuel and charging depend on driver and use.
- Lender fees, repairs, tolls, parking, taxes and opportunity cost are excluded.
- The example interest rate is not a quote or available offer.
